Support - the terms

Free to take. Free to build on.

The images, the prompts and the API behind them are all free to use. Here is the summary, and under it the full version - there is nothing else.

Last updated - 24 July 2026

  • Using it

Copy any prompt, download any image, query the API. No account, no daily cap, nothing reserved for a paid tier.

  • Credit

Released under CC BY 4.0. Name Taste by Journey and link back - that is the only condition, and it is the whole condition.

  • Warranty

Open data, provided as-is. No warranty of any kind, express or implied.

  • The data

Everything the gallery shows is queryable over a free, read-only REST endpoint - the same one this page uses.

The licence

Every image and every prompt published on Taste by Journey is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Use it for any purpose, including commercial ones, with no fee and no permission needed. Specifically, you may:

  • Copy a prompt, change it, run it in Midjourney or anywhere else, and keep whatever comes out.
  • Download an image and use it - in a mock-up, a deck, a video, a product, a print.
  • Republish images or prompts elsewhere, including in a collection of your own - crediting Taste by Journey as the source.
  • Query the API and build something on top of it.

The single condition is attribution, described below. You do not need to ask first. If your use is unusual enough that you want it in writing, write to designjourneyca@gmail.com and you will get a straight answer.

Attribution

Credit is the one thing the licence requires. Name Taste by Journey, link back to tastejourney.art, and put it somewhere a reader can actually find it. This is enough:

Images and prompts from Taste by Journey - tastejourney.art. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.

If you changed anything - re-tagged, re-titled, translated, cropped, re-encoded, or filtered the set down - say so as well. One line does it: Modified from Taste by Journey, CC BY 4.0.

Reformatting the data, re-hosting the images or importing them into your own database does not make them unattributed material. The credit travels with the work.

Where the imagery comes from

Everything in the gallery was generated by the curator using Midjourney, from the prompt shown next to it. Nothing is scraped from other galleries, reposted from other artists, or collected from elsewhere on the web. That is what makes the rest of this page possible: the prompt can be published in full because it is the real one, and the image can be given away because it was not taken from anyone.

Two honest caveats. First, the legal status of AI-generated imagery differs by country, and in several - including the United States - work produced without human authorship may not attract copyright at all. This page grants you every right it can; where there is no right to grant, none is needed. Second, your own use of Midjourney output remains subject to Midjourney's terms of service, which this page cannot and does not override.

Using the API

The read-only REST endpoint documented on the API page is open, unauthenticated and free. It is also one person's hobby budget, so two things are asked rather than enforced:

  • Cache what you fetch. The collection changes a few times a week, not a few times a second.
  • Do not hammer it. There is no rate limit today because none has been needed. Sustained scraping at volume is the one thing that would force one.

The endpoint may change, move or go away. It is offered in good faith, not under a service-level agreement - if you are building something that must not break, mirror the data.

What you may not do

The list is short, because almost everything is allowed:

  • Do not claim you generated the images, or present the collection as your own project.
  • Do not republish the collection, whole or in substantial part, without naming Taste by Journey as the source - the licence permits the copy, not the missing credit.
  • Do not imply that Taste by Journey endorses you, or pass the material on under terms stricter than these.
  • Do not use the imagery in a way that is unlawful, or that presents a real person, brand or event as having done something they did not.
  • Do not attempt to write to the database, work around the read-only access, or degrade the service for other people.

No warranty, no liability

Everything here is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The site may be wrong, incomplete or unavailable.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any claim, damage or other liability arising from the site, its data, or your use of either. Where local law does not permit excluding such liability, it is limited to the minimum the law allows — which, for a service you paid nothing for, is generally nothing.

Changes and removals

These terms may change; the date at the top of the page changes with them. Images may be added, corrected or withdrawn at any time - a download you already have is yours to keep regardless.
